{"id":9760,"date":"2023-05-22T14:37:29","date_gmt":"2023-05-22T18:37:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev.rivetingjourney.com\/wp\/?p=9760"},"modified":"2023-05-22T14:37:29","modified_gmt":"2023-05-22T18:37:29","slug":"scoria-pit-dispersed-camping-boondocking","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dev.rivetingjourney.com\/wp\/scoria-pit-dispersed-camping-boondocking\/","title":{"rendered":"Scoria Pit Dispersed Camping \/ Boondocking"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One of our favorite camping spots this year (so far, anyway!) has been the Scoria Pit Dispersed Camping area (GPS: <a id=\"place-discovery-gps-link-campground-card\" title=\"View at Google Maps\" href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/place\/46.94544109596283,-103.58861535787582\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">46.9454, -103.5886<\/a>) near the South Unit of the Theodore Roosevelt National Park. From Exit 23 of I-94, near Medora, North Dakota, W. River Road turned into a dirt-packed\/gravel-packed road almost immediately and took us back a few miles to the right turn that leads to the dispersed camping area. This is not a true campground. There are no hookups and just a few well-used spots for boondocking.
